David Escobar Parra, Adriana M. Pineda ¡El Móndrigo!
RRD, 2018
The original version of ¡El Móndrigo! (1969) first appeared as an anonymously written text, published in mass by the unknown Alba Roja press, freely distributed in Mexico City—to students lingering in public plazas at the UNAM, outside of arthouse cinemas and in front of subversive discos. The mysterious book advertises itself as anonymously authored by a Mexican student radical, and his auto-confessions scandalize and denounce the 1968 student movement. The book appeared in the streets of Mexico City a quick 6-months after the Mexican government publicly massacred hundreds of students, and beat and arrested thousands more in the Tlateloco neighbourhood´s plaza de las Tres Culturas.
This edition is a facsimile of the original ¡El Móndrigo! (1969) intervened with redactions, annotations and drawings by the artists David Escobar Parra, Adriana M. Pineda.
